I think I've found another winner

As of yesterday, the search for a new bike had thrown up 9 different possibilities.

However, I spent a little time in the bike shop yesterday. What I saw there simple blew me away.

I'd seen the photo of a bike on the internet and thought "meh, not really my thing." But, when I saw that bike in person, it was a completely different feeling. The colours were more vibrant, and the shape more to my liking. The company really needs to look into the quality of the pictures that they are using on the internet, it's not doing the bike justice.

So now, I have 10 possibilities. I am more confused than ever.

Oh my poor bicycle.

My bike is on it's way to the grave... It's done a lot of kilometers. I am extremely happy with the way it has worked. But, unfortunately, it's about dead. Things are bent, things keep breaking and I think it's time for a new bike.

Now, that is an interesting time. I'll keep you informed.

Have a great grey and wet day.

The wind is going the wrong way...

It's cooling down at quite a rate. This morning was qutie a nice. The wind is from the north, making my morning commute quite interesting. I'm not a fan of a head wind, but there's not much I can do about it.

You can't beat this crisp feeling though.

Getting back into 4wd touring

Since I used the TB-04 for most of the 24 hour race.... I've spent the last couple of weekends trying to practice and improve my technique with this car.

To be fair, I haven't don't touring for a number of years. I prefer either direct drive or fwd... I love my kart and my 2 GTs from Kawada.

But I am really enjoying this. I've never had a shaft driven car of this type before. I've mainly had belt drives. The one thing I've noticed is that I've had to replace the gears a lot more than in the belt-driven cars. I've replaced the rear gearbox to all metal gears and now the shaft end-gear melted on me yesterday. I asked about it and they've just said it's a part of owning a shaft driven car. It's a good thing the parts are cheap.

But saying that, it takes 12 screws to gain access to the front diff... I guess I shouldn't complain too much, it's not a high-end chassis but still, it takes a lot of wrist work.

I had a BMW... then I had the La Ferrari body for the race... Now, I'm onto a BMW Z4... I really like the RC bodies that look like real cars.... It just looks so much cooler when they race.

Time for a selfie

My shadow was taking it's own selfie's this morning.

I'm loving this cooler weather. You still sweat on the bike, but when you stop, the breeze tends to cool you rather than boil you.

Bring on WINTER!!!
