When will this terrible weather just stop. It's been raining for ages, and it looks like it will be raining for most of the next month. Enough already.

I just want a few days where I can go riding without the need to worry about the storm or just straight-out downpour that seems to be the way of the day.

It's the start of August already.

Although, to be sure, I'm very happy to see the end of Summer. I'm not a fan, as I have written about on many occasions, of the heat and just sweating all the time.

This Summer was also quite hard on me as I'd been trying to keep up with my exercise. My trip down to Shishikui was quite an eye-opener. Cramping from loss of fluid.

But that's done, and now it's going to start getting cooler. For some reason I'd rather go running in 0 degrees over 30 degrees. Guess that means I'm not a reptile.

Tomorrow evening, the 24 hour charity race begins again.

I do have a bit of a problem though, I haven't done any Radio Control this year. It's just not been on my radar. With work commitments or just trying to get fit and healthy as a priority, I haven't had the chance to get ready.

I have a few cars that have just sat there. Looks like I'm just going to have to give them a spit-and-polish job and give it a go.

I wont be doing the 24 hours like previously, but I'll be there to have fun. That's what counts.

I'd never realized the importance of having a good bike stand until I bought my latest road bike. I made the choice to keep it clean and in good running order.

Now, the stand I have is certainly not cheap, as it's usually used by bike shops when building bikes and to be honest, it's a little more than I need.

However, it is GREAT!!!! Cleaning and checking over my bike has never been easier.

It's so easy, that when I bought my folding bike, I also got a stand for it.

Cleaning is now no longer a chore. I actually look forward to it. You aren't bent over like an old man, trying to get down to the parts that need the most TLC. They're right there, at a level that's easy to see and work on.

Sometimes it's worth spending a little extra to get something that makes maintenance easier. Then, you end up just doing it.

The cooler weather has come through a little earlier than initially forecast, and to be honest, it's a very welcome change. I've not been well, but I've jumped on my bike today for a relaxing commute to work.

It feels good to be alive today, and it's been a while since I've wanted to say that.

However, the awa-dance festival starts this evening, so this weather is perhaps not quite what they wanted.
