It still feels like SummerIt's still really hot. I'm trying really hard to enjoy this as it will be getting colder and windier as the year progresses. I'm actually looking forward to that. I was thinking about yesterday, especially the conversation I had about commuting. I ride a bike during my commute. I do it because I really enjoy riding. There seems to be a kind of feeling that you're not supposed to enjoy your commute, but I disagree. Riding for me is freedom as well as exercise. So I'm improving my general health as well as my mental health at the same time. It's a win-win situation for me. Is there anything you can do to increase your enjoyment of your work commute? Interesting conversationI have a bike shop that I really like going to. As a result, they see a large chuck of my spending with regards to bikes. With that, I'm somewhat limited to what they sell, but I don't mind because I choose to support that shop. I was having an interesting discussion about the kinds of bikes that people would buy or want to buy. The issue is whether they should get the top of the line models all the time or go for something that they would, possibly, enjoy riding more. There is certainly a limit as to what the normal person can feel as far as the difference between the top of the line models and the more reasonable models. I have a chance over the next few weeks to ride a ridiculous bike. This bike is well out of my available price range nor is it really the kind of bike I would choose to ride. I'm going to try and keep an open mind. Can you believe this is Anan City.Anan City has a lot going for it. It has a number of mountains and the seaside is also very beautiful. This morning I rode out to the most eastern point of the city. I'm still not sure if it's called the Kamoda or Gamoda point. But it's really a beautiful sport and an amazing ride to get there. It's one of the few rides around this area that is considered hilly rather than mountainous. It's not that long either, and is worth the effort. (I'm not sponsored by any drink companies, I just thought it was a nice place for a coffee) I'm so happy right nowI went to bed last night not knowing what the weather was going to do this morning. I was so happy when I woke up to blue skies. I could ride my bike today. That made the day worth it. It's just something I must do. Everyday if possible. Too quick to pull the leverAnan City, I believe, is way to quick to pull the lever as far as weather warnings go. I'm sure this isn't the first time I've said this. We had a storm this morning and the elementary school was OK was receiving students but the local junior high school had called the day a holiday. I don't think that's consistent enough, especially with regard to the kids of the city. |
