Club Craig - 2012-12
SpiritOne of the reasons what we have started the web site www.my-anan.net was as a conduit to increasing the spirit of the people of Anan, and on a broader sense, the people of Tokushima Prefecture. We are still focussed on our goals and through our extra curricular activities we hope to help increase the spirit and pride of the people with whom we share this great part of the world. There are others within Tokushima of whom are also participating in activities to improve the spirit of Tokushima. One such activity is the Tokushima Vortis Soccer team. This club is run and supported mainly by one of Tokushimas biggest companies. I had the pleasure of watching the traveling trainers go around to an elementary school this morning. This event gives the students a chance to be trained by, talk and eventually play with the professional players. I spoked with some of them and they do this kind of event every week from Tuesday to Friday. Visiting schools and showing children that if they can focus on their training or their studies, then they can achieve great things. They do bring a very important message. It's nice to see that the "Spirit" of Tokushima is being supported from many different people. We aren't going to give up! Weather, Economics and PoliticsWinter has arrived, however where I come from in Australia is sweltering in a very hot Summer. Looks like we're going to be freezing here and my family is going to be melting. Personally, I'm big on winter. Certainly more than Summer. I've been listening to some Economics podcasts from America recently. It's extremely interesting and it also has pointed out how isolated and insulated we appear here. It's also a good way to fill-in my transit time. The political campain has now started in earnest. Good luck to all involved. Weather woesI can't remember a year that has been as strange as this year. Very few typhoons and many thunder storms in summer and now more rain in winter. I'd just like a few days to ride my bike. Seems like a tall ask these days. ReflectionI was just reflecting on the week that I've had. It's been quite a week of highs and lows. I've managed to do a few firsts this week, as well as finish a few things that have been hanging on for a while. I've also had a bit of an emotional week. I listen to podcasts daily. The podcasts that I listen to tend to vary in topic, from economics to politics to IT discussions. This week I've had a few that have almost bought me to tears. "Food for thought" as they say. I do enjoy thinking. 23 days until Santa.... Work And Play makes you very happy. It's Saturday, and we have decided to take a little time out to have a little fun. This fun comes in the form of 2 Kyosho Inferno Radio control buggies. They are a blast!! 20 minutes and you are refreshed and have the biggest smile on your face. It's also starting to get cold with the temperature this week down somewhere near or below zero. Take care everyone. I love the cold weather. |
